Visit Azores in 3 days
All over the world, there are unique and surprising destinations that engage us and make us fall in love. Places we never forget and always want to return to. The Azores are certainly one of those places. Getting to know this archipelago is a memorable experience. There are nine islands, and on each of them there is so much to see and explore. Shall we?
Day 1: São Miguel
Our 3-day itinerary for the Azores invariably starts with the main island of the archipelago, São Miguel. As soon as you arrive, get to know our car rental at Ponta Delgada Airport, pick a car at the Guerin and drive to the stunning Lagoa das Sete Cidades. After visiting the pretty village there, head to the Lagoa do Fogo viewpoint. The panoramic view is unmissable and so are the walks you can take there. As lunchtime approaches, drive to Ribeira Grande and enjoy the traditional stew made directly in Furnas. It's truly delicious.
The afternoon begins at Caldeira Velha, once you have digested all the food, enjoy a relaxing bath in its thermal pools. After renewing your energy, it's the right time to visit the Gorreana Tea plantation and try different varieties of tea. To end the day in style, return to Ponta Delgada and relax with a stroll through the city center. But try not to stay out until late, as you have to catch your flight to the island of flowers the next day.
Day 2: Flores
After a two-hour flight, we are finally on the island of Flores. Home to just over 4,000 inhabitants, this is considered by many to be the most beautiful island in the archipelago. Here, start your itinerary with a visit to the Miradouro do Bordão. The rock formations and the surrounding landscape are magnificent and serve as an appetizer for the Flores Island park. There are many trails to follow here, all with breathtaking views.
At the end of the morning, catch your breath at Fajã Grande, in the west of the island. There you can have a fresh fish lunch and, in the afternoon, visit the various waterfalls and natural pools in the area, such as Poço do Bacalhau. Before returning to Santa Cruz das Flores and calling it a day, take a trip to Ponta da Fajã and watch the sun set in the immensity of the Atlantic.
Day 3/ Morning: Corvo
The last day to visit the Azores in 3 days has arrived. And with it, a boat trip to the nearest island, Corvo. After an hour at sea, we arrived in Vila do Corvo and from there we’re headed to the island's most iconic viewpoint, Miradouro do Caldeirão.
It's a wonderful place, especially for those who enjoy hiking. Walk around the volcanic crater, down to the lakes and enjoy the scenery. Then head to the coast and visit Porto da Casa. Take the opportunity to observe the rock formations and spot some of the region's seabirds.

Around lunchtime, return to Vila do Porto. It's the right time to explore the charming narrow streets and have lunch somewhere, before catching the boat back to the nearby Flores islands.
Day 3/ Afternoon: Flores
Back on the island of Flores, it's time to enjoy Santa Cruz das Flores and what this town has to offer. Stroll through the cobbled streets of the historic center, visit the parish church, a typical Azorean church, and take a trip to the municipal market. As well as having many typical products from the region, you'll also find the souvenirs you didn't have time to buy before you leave to the airport. Have a good trip!
