1. Torre de Belém, Lisbon
One of the most emblematic places in Portugal is Torre de Belém, located in Lisbon. This fortification is on the right bank of Rio Tejo, and known as the monument of the reign of D. Manuel I. Also, along with Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, Torre de Belém was classified in 1983 as a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site and elected as one of the Seven Wonders in Portugal since 2007.
2. Alfama, Lisbon
Alfama is the oldest and one of the most typical neighborhoods in the city of Lisbon. This place resembles an old village, with a small and close community. It stands out for its typical restaurants and fado houses, as well as the ideal place to celebrate the typical festivities, especially on the night of Santo António.
3. Baixa/Chiado, Lisbon
Formerly known as Baixa Pombalina after the 1755 earthquake, downtown Lisbon is surrounded by history. Rua Augusta is the main street in this area, where you can start and end at the famous Terreiro do Paço or Praça do Rossio. You can also visit the Elevador Santa Justa, which offers a privileged view over Lisbon, and Chiado, which represents a more commercial and populated area.

The Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology is a contemporary art museum in the Belém area. 8. Palácio da Bolsa, Porto
Palácio da Bolsa, or Palácio da Associação Comercial do Porto, has traces of 19th century neoclassical and Tuscan architecture. It is currently part of the Porto Commercial Association and is now used for the most diverse cultural, social and political events in the city. Sala Árabe is the most prominent of all the rooms in the palace, due to its 19th century stuccoes, captioned in gold with Arabic characters.
9. Serralves Foundation, Porto
The Serralves Foundation is located at Parque Serralves in the city of Porto, where Casa Serralves and the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art are located. Created in 1989, the House and the Park are the realization of Carlos Alberto Cabral's dream. The house was designed by the Portuguese architect Marques da Silva and is considered a unique example of Art Deco architecture in Portugal.
