Share
A road trip starts long before you hit the road. To make sure everything goes as expected, you need to know how to plan your road trip in advance. Establish a list of priorities before you set off. At Guerin, we want to simplify your trip with a few tips. Discover them now.

4 steps to plan a road trip

1. Setting the route

Define the starting point and the ending point. This is halfway to being able to predict how long it will take you to arrive. This makes it easier for you to define the stops along your route and how long you will stay at each of them.
With this information you can now research places to stay and visit. At this point, the most important thing - renting a car at Guerin - should be taken care of. Easy and simple.

2. Check all the car components

If you are going in your car, don't forget to check it out before you set off on your adventure. It is essential:
- Check that the tires are in perfect condition;
- Check that the signal lights are working properly;
- Make sure the emergency kit is in the right condition. This consists of a reflective vest, gloves, and a signaling triangle.

If you drive a Guerin car, simply continue your journey, as all our cars are regularly checked at our stations. Thus, you can rest assured, with no additional worries.

3. Checking documentation

Whether you leave the country or not, take your driving licence with you, as usual. Don't forget to check the vehicle documents, the single document, and the green card. A trip programmed to the last detail is pointless if your documentation is not in order.
If you are going to travel abroad, when you reserve your car at Guerin, you must add the complementary TOP travel assistance product. If you are not a citizen of the European Union, you have to present your international driving license.

4. What you can't miss in your car

Since you will spend a lot of time in your car, there are some things you can't afford to miss. Make a list of the things that must be in the car, so you have everything at hand when you're on the road.  Write it down now:

- GPS;

- First Aid Kit

- Water bottles

- Practical snacks;

- Chargers.
